Model of the urban installation TOFUD # Trolley 0504.
The historic Dutch Fort Zeelandia (TW) plays a crucial role in the design of the central object that is moved on the electric trolley through Taipei and its markets. Using the map of the fort as cargo, Frank Havermans moves through the metropolis, interweaving the interplay between small-scale everyday trade and large-scale geopolitical trade.
Collectible Model Trolley 0504 is the design model of my urban installation “TOFUD / Trolley 0504” that questions the interplay of forces between daily small-scale trade and large-scale geopolitical trade. With the cargo, based on the map of 17th-century Fort Zeelandia in Tainan, I drove it around Taipei’s markets, shown in the short film As Long As Trade Moves.
Last year I made the first 5 models. Because it is handmade, which takes time, it took me a while to start working on models 6-10.
Nr. 6 is going to Germany, nr. 7 is going to France, nr. 10 stays in the Netherlands and nr. 8 and 9 are available and are the last 2 !
